How it all started...
The company history of efko is shaped by people who showed foresight. In their courage to make trend-setting decisions for the future, there is a great responsibility for all who follow them.
From the very beginning, efko has developed into the largest producer of pickled vegetables in Austria. Our group operates subsidiaries in Austria and abroad. We are convinced of the founding idea of efko, to provide people with the best fruit and vegetables. It is our task to carry this idea forward - adapted to the requirements of the next decade.

1941
Foundation of „BAST“ – Bezirksabgabestelle für Gartenbauerzeugnisse in Eferding – by a couple of farmers of the region.
1950
Fresh fruit and vegetables were preserved with natural means for the first time – the legendary efko gherkins are launched on the market.
1960/70
In the 1960s and 70s, the product range was continuously expanded and true pickled vegetable classics were created.
1980
Production methods were continuously improved and great new products with ever more sophisticated recipes followed. In 1983, efko launched its now classic fine mayonnaise salads.
1992
The company efko s.r.o. was founded in the Czech and Slovak Federal Republic.
1997
efko cz s.r.o. started to build a brand new modernly equipped factory in Veselí nad Lužnicí.
